Greater Noida: The inquiry into the tragic death of 28-year-old Nikki Bhati, who was reportedly set ablaze by her in-laws, is revealing new information daily. Reports indicate that Nikki informed medical personnel in her dying declaration that she suffered from “burn injuries while cooking,” as stated by police on Wednesday. Authorities believe she may have made this claim to shield her sister from potential repercussions. Additionally, investigators noted that Nikki's family initially resisted a post-mortem examination but consented after discussions with local police officials.
According to police and hospital representatives, Nikki conveyed to doctors in her “dying declaration” that her injuries were a result of a cooking cylinder explosion at her residence. This account was documented in the hospital’s medico-legal certificate (MLC No. 703), which specified: “burn at home, due to blast of cooking cylinder.” Nikki was admitted to the hospital in critical condition at 6 pm, brought in by Devendra, a relative of her husband, Vipin Bhati.
